Jet lag can be a blessing in disguise.
At 4:00 AM, just hours after landing in New York, we decided to make the most of our restlessness—and turn it into an adventure. We jumped on the subway while the city was still asleep and rolled into Times Square, where the lights burn just as bright no matter the hour.
From Times Square, our run began: weaving through Manhattan’s streets, heading down toward SoHo as the city slowly came to life around us. There was something magical about sprinting through empty avenues that just a few hours later would be overflowing with people, cars, and the city’s signature chaos.
The morning’s destination? A well-deserved breakfast at our favorite spot, Jack’s Wife Freda. Refueled with great food, coffee, and the feeling of having already experienced more before 8 AM than most do in an entire day.
New York is about seizing every moment—even the ones that begin in the middle of the night.
